Residents of Camelot, A Provincial Senior Living Community, brought the holiday spirit to life on Monday, December 2, as they gathered to wrap books for the 270 students at Cabazon Elementary School. Each student, from kindergarten through fifth grade, received a beautifully wrapped book, thanks to the generosity and dedication of the Camelot residents.
This marks the second year that the residents of Camelot have participated in this cherished holiday tradition, spreading joy and ensuring every student receives a special gift for the season. Within an hour, the books were wrapped, and the evening continued with reminiscing about past Christmases and indulging in cookies and hot cocoa – Santa’s favorite treats.
The excitement on the faces of Cabazon Elementary students was priceless as they opened their gifts. In Ms. Kaiser and Ms. Porter’s kindergarten classes, students eagerly unwrapped their books, ready to let their imaginations soar through reading and coloring the illustrations.
Meanwhile, Ms. Cash’s 4th and 5th graders were thrilled to receive AR (Accelerated Reader) books that not only spark their love of reading but also help them earn points and prizes at school. The “My Weird School Daze” book series by Dan Gutman was a favorite among the older students, with engaging titles like Miss Laney is Zany! and Mr. Tony is Full of Baloney!
Cabazon Elementary School is deeply grateful to the residents of Camelot for their continued support and generosity. This act of kindness not only fosters a love for reading but also strengthens the bond between generations, reminding everyone of the true spirit of the season.
